I think they may have already been sensing their upcoming doom, and so were more subdued than the Dems. Dunno. You'll see a *lot* of pushing and shoving when a herd of zebras suddenly scent a lion... |

If you walk through a chicken barn, a chicken will run under your foot and wait for you to step on it. If you walk from one end to the other, you have to be careful because the chickens will run in front of you all the way to the other end, and many will die of asphixiation in a big pile, while there are only 2 or 3 running around in the other 50 yards of empty barn. I would say that chickens are the dumbest critters on earth except that turkeys are much larger and their brains are the same size. Did you ever notice the crowds at our our (USA) Democrat convention or at a NASCAR race or pedestrians in New York City? *Chickens may be dumber but not by much. What, you think there were more brains on display at the Republican convention? Think about who they nominated as their VP candidate. But she can see the current volcanic eruption, her single-mom daughter, and Russia from her house! The bit about Russia was actually Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live. While I am not that impressed by Palin, having Tina Fey do such a realistic impression of her probably made her seem far more out of it than she was/is. It will be interesting to see how well she does on the national scene in the next four years (she may well just fade out of sight like most VP candidates). One thing that seems constant is that the tabloids will report the most outrageous things about the incumbent president regardless if true. This is regardless of ideology or competence. |

Plain's actual quote was: "As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where– where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border." --Sarah Palin; citing her foreign policy qualifications for higher office. If anything, this is even dumber than the Tina Fey line; which at least made sense. |

Fey's bit was almost entirely verbatim quotes from Palin's interviews with Gibson and Couric. Palin did say that before Fey did her skit. "GIBSON: What insight into Russian actions, particularly in the last couple of weeks, does the proximity of the state give you? PALIN: They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska." http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2...5782924&page=2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gk8moOxzlGQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6iC-LjhUxo -- Turby the Turbosurfer |
