Default tandem recommndation

Dear All,
I am looking for recommendations for a tandem. The stoker position should be
able to accommodate a 7 year old and a 5ft 4inch adults
Thanks for any suggestions

IMHO, you can't do both with the same tandem. For the 7-y.o. child,
you need a Burley kids' conversion kit or the like, but for the 5'4"
adult you need a standard tandem with a small rear triangle. You
can't really use the same tandem for both stokers because it's too
much hassle to install and uninstall the kids' conversion setup.

I'm trying to remember, my memory could be faulty, but I think I was
able to use our tandem both ways by simply removing the pedals from the
stoker attachment and attaching them to the regular cranks. In other
words, I left the stoker attachment in place. I think. It seems a bit
screwy (which is why I'm wondering if I recall correctly on this one).

No, you can't do that, Mike, because even if you remove the kids'
cranks, the stoker's legs are going to hit the kids' bottom bracket
spindle, chainrings and chain. Besides, what a kludge!

See http://www.gstrikes.com/gtt.html and

If you prefer the handling characteristics of two-wheelers, this one
also accommodates a wide range of stoker sizes:

A similar European bicycle:

WARNING - Flash™

The Viewpoint and Pino have the advantage of the stoker NOT being able
to easily slap the captain in the head.
