Chain tensioner that doubles as non-turn washers for Alfine

Hello everyone, I was hoping someone would be able to help me out. I just had a Alfine custom wheel built by Harris to go on my Bianchi MUSS. I absolutely love this setup and would recommend it to anyone. The only thing that I don't like is that I can't seem to get the right chain tension. I miss my Surly tuggnuts and the ability to not only provide perfect chain tension but ensure that the axle is perfectly straight in the dropouts. The non-turn washers prevent me from using these. This got me thinking...would it be possible to combine a non-turn washer and chain tensioner? I can't see why this wouldn't be possible and would provide the best of both worlds. It would basically be a standard horizontal dropout chain tensioner, with non-turn tabs and the correct female shape to receive the flattened Alfine axle. I am considering having custom tensioners milled but am unsure how much that would cost and figured I would check if anyone else has come across a solution first.... Any ideas? I think Surly could modify their tuggnuts very easily to achieve this....Come on Surly, make it happen! Thanks in advance for your help. Check the www.yesspro.com you may get the one will work for your bike. |
