Default Back in the saddle...

Well, it has now been 6 months, but I was allowed back on the bike again today
(recurrence of old illness... lack of intestinal fortitude). I am happy to
report that the wheels still go around when I push on the pedals, and the smile
still appears on my face at about the same time the bike starts moving.
Only 8 miles, mostly road, but it's something to build back from.
The doc said "no strenuous exercise - and I mean biking!", and although I did
try a ride in March, it was not a success. ;-(

What, no video? ;-)

Always good to get back on the bike! That first ride after several weeks
(or months) off the bike is always a great feeling (as long as one doesn't
try to ride like one hasn't been off for several months)!

It will take time, but you'll get it back.

Glad to hear you are feeling better.

You couldn't handle the video.. ;-)

Even I don't want to see it.

heh-heh... done it before.

Thanks - been _feeling_ better for months now, but the doc _knows_ better cos
he has xray vision. ;-)

My abortive ride in March taught me to trust the doc. (No details implied or
given...)

Jeez, if I'd known you'd been sidelined, I /might/ have gone easier on you!

Sorry to hear you had problems, SB, but glad you're back at it.

Yeah, if I want to see an old guy wheezing, I'll just bring a videocam on
my next ride.

Heehee... only reason I've been so ornery myself lately is frustration with
reading about all you guys out doin' it. No reason to go easy on me.

Sorry to hear you had problems, SB, but glad you're back at it.

Thanks - me too.

LOL! I was thinking of the "intestinal fortitude" (or lack of it) video....

Anyhoo, no wheezing today, just a _very_ leisurely trip out to the lighthouse
and back, little side-trip onto the cliffs to see some rock, and a tiny bit of
dirt on the way home. I stay away from the beach (it's on the way there),
although it's good exercise ;-) Steel and salt water do not mix.

Steve "now, if I can just get a boat in the water this year...."
