My previous tires were great on dirt, snow etc but left a little to be desired when riding up rock. They were slick on wet wood as well, but I don't hold that against them. My philosophy is that there are so many tires out there that work well why even take a chance on one people have had trouble with. I use the Kenda Kinetic 2.35 and I think CDB has recommended the Nevegal in the past. I'll probably pick up a Nevegal next time. Greg Yeah, I've got the 2.35 Kinetics on the SS, and the 2.35 Nevegal on the double squish, and love those tires. I also love my 2.35 Blue Groove on the front. But its high desert hardpack, and dry forest loam for most all our riding. We can't ride the mud here, as it tears up the trails too badly. The BG/Nevegal combo is pretty popular, and for our terrain, there's good reason. CDB I'm looking to pick up a Nevegal for the front and maybe the small block for the rear. But, IIRC, supposedly they have cleaned up their act in the past couple years. They've been pretty responsive and helpful so far; time will tell. I was a intrigued with their PBO spokes and they use Enduro® brand bearings in their hubs, which is one good sign. I found a decent used pair in "like new cond" with a decent discount from retail, so I went for it. They are machined and anodized beautifully. It was one of those purchases where half your brain is telling you to do it, while the other half says, “dude - don't do it!” They *do* roll real nice while in the bike stand -- Slack - on a spending spree.... weeeee! |
