Chain Driven Dynamo

It had a BIG oil inlet in the middle. Hmm, I wonder if the bike dealers didn't tell people about that. 1. they didn't know ... 2. newer hubs had no oiler (not sure, but I think it was when the shift lever got a red plate on it) Red plate shifters is all I can remember from the Torpedo days. This is my favorite Torpedo: http://www.ipabeer.com/database/torpedo-ipa _______ I very well remember the meeting of football fans with an almost 80-year old ex-player at the table. He said »I'd like very much to drink a third pint of beer, but I have to cycle home 10 kilometers« --- the fat much younger guy was stunned indeed. I met him recently. Celebrated his 86th birthday and complained about a few browses after laying his bike. And he is still very active doing lectures twice a week or more. That's how I want to have my grand finale in life :-) He is a great guy and a good friend, in fact. When I first met my grandpa, he was a fat and real old man. When I calculate, he was younger at that time as I am now. My ancestors were quite healthy. Great grandpa once gave us the scare when he was around 95. "Where is he?" ... "The neighbors said they just saw him head out on a motorcycle" ... "WHAT?!" I think there are some things one can do for keeping up. Yup. Use the bike whenever possible, no fast food, not too much sugar, no cheap beer, et cetera. -- Regards, Joerg http://www.analogconsultants.com/ |

1. they didn't know ... 2. newer hubs had no oiler (not sure, but I think it was when the shift lever got a red plate on it) Red plate shifters is all I can remember from the Torpedo days. The model I hat was the predecessor. The ones with red plate were very common for a lot of years. This is my favorite Torpedo: http://www.ipabeer.com/database/torpedo-ipa Looks good. _______ My ancestors were quite healthy. Great grandpa once gave us the scare when he was around 95. "Where is he?" ... "The neighbors said they just saw him head out on a motorcycle" ... "WHAT?!" Great stuff. Reminds me to a story with a former neighbor. She wanted a very powerful motorbike, ordered already, bud didn't yet pass the license test (I hope she never did). Her brother (my neighbor) was too cowardy to take it home from the seller (he didn't drive for quite a time). So they asked daddy ... aged 70++ ... he took it home and kept it for himself. Discussion futile. I think there are some things one can do for keeping up. Yup. Use the bike whenever possible, no fast food, not too much sugar, no cheap beer, et cetera. Worth a try. jk -- no sig |
