Default Double-wall water bottles

A couple of hours ago my wife made a find at Costco which will come in
handy during my road bike rides, double wall bottles:

https://www.costco.com/Reduce-COLD-1...100340745.html

They do not easily slide into a bicycle bottle holder unless the holder
is bent a bit. However, they fit into panniers such as my Nashbar
Daytrekker. Not for weight weenies since their empty weight is 13-1/2oz
each.

Should make for much more pleasant rides in summer. During my last rides
the water almost had the temperature of tea towards the end. I haven't
tried them yet but with some ice in there their should work well.

It's plastic and the insulation won't last long on the MTB. Which is
what I use 40-50% of the time.

I am going to use these to refill my 28oz non-insulated water bottle
which rides in the bike's holder.

The 3rd image doesn't render here. The largest I found for the bike
holder was 33oz but probably there are bigger ones. Of course, one could
always mount a Cornelius keg to the rear of a bicycle.

That would almost provide sufficient water for one Sahara desert
crossing. And there doesn't always have to be water in them ...

There are bottle cages that will hold larger bottles.

I have switched to a single large bottle using
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002S3JX7I but I didn't pay that much for it.

Quote "protect your beautiful bottle paint". You should see my current
water bottle. It used to be white. Below where the bottle holder metal
scrapes along it's all black. Nobody would steal it because it looks too
disgusting.

Looks good but in our region it would only make sense with an insulated
bottle. Else it's like drinking hot tea.

What I plan to do is fill the two 28oz iso-bottles mostly with ice and
top off with water. At sports grounds, school yards or playgrounds I can
then re-fill from a drinking fountain and the ice should cool down the
fresh water nicely. On the MTB that doesn't work on many trails because
there are often no fountains.

Of course, on the MTB one could fill it with crushed ice and margarita
mix, then bomb down some rock garden for blending and pour it.
