Jeanson's 23.

Aubut's about 50, I think.

For people who have actually seen them together, if you didn't know
who
they were, does it look like Father, Daughter when they are next to
each
other?

The one that sticks in my mind was seeing him berate her after a stage
of the Tour de Toona.

I'd say he looked like a drill instructor and she like a private.

I've never seen them looking like lovers, but then I've only seen them
together immediately before or after a race that I can recall.

"The Criminal Code does not now criminalize consensual sexual activity
with or between persons 14 or over, unless it takes place in a
relationship of trust or dependency,

Well a coach-athlete relationship would fall into this realm and it
did seem that they were nearly always together. Ethically, it would
be wrong, just like sleeping with a student (college), but if she was
using EPO then I doubt ethics were ever considered. All that said, I
can't believe we're talking about this now; I pretty much assumed he
was when she first hit the scene. They were inseperable.

The exception, of
course, is anal intercourse, to which unmarried persons under 18
cannot legally consent, although both the Ontario Court of Appeal(3)
and the Quebec Court of Appeal(4) have struck down the relevant
section of the Criminal Code."

We'll never know!

Cheerio,
Francis

Francis,
Given your expertise AS a rowing coach, can you please
enlighten us as to what the man is doing in the picture on
the left?

He is holding the stern of her shell in order to line up the
bows of the boats at the start line.

For some of the womens races, it's a job with an amazing view.
(See Ewoud's post)
For some of the Masters races, it's a job with an apalling
view. (You don't want to see it)

Ditto for the stroke man.

I wonder if that's how they think it is. What a sick business this all
is.

Just some harmless recreation. Relaxation is the key to rowing fast.

Like so many things Canadian, except Davey; sounds reasonable. As a
(rowing) coach, I am strongly opposed to coach-pupil relationships.
Complete abuse of trust and dependence.

So what happens now that Rona has not renewed for 2005? Would anyone
sponsor Jeanson and Aubut to build a team around again? The rest of
the team was a revolving door.

On the other hand, they won a lot, didn't they?

Would Jeanson sign with another existing team with its own directeur
sportif?

That explains the Australian women's 8 in Athens then...
