Maybe the drivers can't say thanks as they have a mobile 'phone in their hand?

Can't you drive no handed? You only need a hand on the wheel to turn.

But seriously, I have no problem using a phone, a sandwich, or a bottle of coke while driving. You only use one hand unless you're changing gear or indicating. Just put the phone down at that point.

I have never owned a mobile 'phone as I don't need one.

So your Alfa has never broken down? I find that hard to believe.

I've actually got an app on my phone for the AA. I don't even need to call them, I just press "breakdown", and it sends my position to them, which side of the motorway I'm on, and they already know my make and model of car to send the appropriate vehicle. I can then watch on the map on the screen where the recovery vehicle is.

I sometimes adjust my Garmin Nuvicam GPS whilst on the move though.

Did you not read the legally binding disclaimer when you first turned it on? You must never ever touch your satnav while driving. I'm going to report you to the police ;-)

P.S. is receiving a blowjob illegal while driving? Technically my cock isn't used to control the car, so it must therefore be safe.

Did you ever sort out that Wright Hassle parking fine? I would have told them I'm not taking anyone seriously with that name.

It has clocked up 165000 miles now and in that time has only broken down twice and both times I have had access to a landline. Been lucky I suppose.

Before this virus thing, I was booked on a month long driving holiday of Europe and learned that there are very harsh penalties for even having a dashcam in Austria.

"The use of a dash cam is completely illegal in Austria and drivers can be fined £9,000 for being caught using them and up to £22,000 for repeat offence."

I told them to take me to court as their signage was very poor and unlit and never heard anything back. A year later, I parked in the same car park and the signage was very clear and unmistakeable, so obviously they had taken note.

But how much does it cost to fix it and service it and pass MOTs? Are the parts not exceedingly expensive?

So go on a holiday in the UK instead. We have lovely scenery too, it's just soggy.

WTF? I know in some countries like France they don't like you having a speed camera database on them, but apparently you can get round that if it's called an "accident hot spot database".

Oh, dashCAM. I thought we were still on satnavs. This is absurd. It's like when I was fined 700 Euros (and had the device confiscated) for using a radar detector in France. How the **** was I to know it was illegal over there? You can't just have different laws in different countries like that, without having a big list as you enter the country. Why not just as you leave the ferry get handed a leaflet saying "do not do this this and this"? Sorry, aeroplane. Ferries can cause dizzyness :-)

On that subject, probably best not to have one if you think more than 50% of accidents are your fault. Unless you can hide it very quickly, the police can use it against you!

All car parks should be free.

It cost me £450 for two springs and a wheel bearing to pass its last MOT which might be its last one due to rust.

My Satnav has a dashcam built into it.

And that timing chain?

for two springs and a wheel bearing

Ouch. For mine each spring is 30 + about the same to fit. Wheel bearing 45, or 150 if you're daft enough to use the one the garage supplies and adds cowboy markup to. That garage has lost a lot of custom recently :-)

to pass its last MOT which might be its last one due to rust.

Rust should be a thing of the past in this century.

Now that could cause a problem. And what about a phone? They all have cameras nowadays. How will the pigs know if you're using it or intend to use it as a dashcam?

It's on the same one as 3 years ago. It's supposed to be a fit and forget item.
You only change it when the engine light comes on after it stretches.

Isn’t it just a tiny bit pretentious to insist on putting an apostrophe before “phone”?
