Typical multi-day tour price?
Hi folks--
In a different forum, some local posters are going on about this new weekend music festival, how it'll be a wonderful thing, fantastic line- up, etc. And it's "only" about $250. One of the mods claims that any July 4th weekend event would be about that cost. (Clearly he needs to get himself a bike, or a fiddle, and revise his idea of entertainment!) I am begging to differ, and asking for support from those who also enjoy cheap fun that doesn't involve paying money to sit and watch someone perform. What have you paid for a weekend invitational ride? Doesn't have to be July 4th. If memory serves, rides like GOBA and PALM are less than $100 (and that's for all week). I've asked the same question on my folkie music jam lists as well. Thanks! --Karen D. enjoying a heat wave, 21 F here in Michigan |

I've asked the same question on my folkie music jam lists as well. Here's the RAGBRAI cost, which covers a camping site each night (no extra charge for rain) and luggage transfer along the route. If you hunt for free music, there's usually some along the way. This is a week, not a weekend, but it was handy. "Everyone, whether a rider or a passenger in a vehicle, must submit an entry. The entry fee for a week-long rider is $125. The entry fee for a non-rider is $35. Anyone not riding a bicycle (driver, family members, or friends riding in a vehicle) must submit an entry form and a signed waiver for a non-rider wristband. Daily wristbands are for the rider and/or non-rider who is not able to participate for the full week. The entry fee for daily wristbands is $25 per day with a limit of three days per person." -- Mike Kruger Say not always what you know, but always know what you say.
