Perry Butler is not a bad bloke, but he is mired in conventional

been a losing battle. He likes to call me names when he can't think of
what else to do. He is a fellow Minnesotan so I feel rather badly that
we do not get along better. All he needs to do really is just to grow
up a bit and lose his childish defense mechanisms.

Eddie,

Only a "childish" liar like you would call himself GOD.

It's obvious who needs to "grow up a bit and lose his childish defense
mechanisms." When was the last time you didn't get the last defensive
word in; I can't recall a time. You are the King of Defense!

Enjoy,

Perry B

PS, being a "fellow Minnesotan" has nothing to do with my distain for
people like you who lie.

Dear DOG,

There is no such thing as a "schraeder valve".

What proof do you have to support this contention?

A search of industrial suppliers reveals a null result for "schraeder
valve", but many sources of "Schrader valves".

Anyone claiming divinity should be aware of this.

Here is a nice selection of Schrader valves from a descendent of the
company that invented said valve:
http://www.schrader-bridgeport.com/brochure.cfm?brochure=1341&location_id=1147.

Nice valves. Robust. Tough. Valves real men would want on their inner
tubes. Not wimpy Presta valves (aka the French valve) whose main appeal
would be to technowienies and skinny assed bicycle racing freaks.

$kip is obviously a "Fred". It would not surprise me if the labels on
his tires were not aligned with the valve stems.

Of course I align the tire label with the valve stem. It's a time saver
locating the stem in the unlikely event of a flat plus it just wouldn't look
right to me otherwise. I also carefully inspect the tire carcass and tape
before installing a new tube (no I don't patch the puncture hole [a patch by
definition is a temporary repair]). I take these additional steps so I
won't be troubled by repeated flats and for safety's sake. I doesn't take
much extra time or money to do things right.

"Inner tube patching is a very old, well established technology, and is
quite reliable if done properly" - Sheldon Brown [1]

Enough said, unless one wishes to disagree with Mr. Brown.

P.S. Oh yeah, I also carefully refold my maps the way they were originally
intended to be folded. If you ever get around to adopting real children
other than your three "orphans" you could show them how to do these kinds of
things.

If one lives in Chicagoland [2], it is practical two have two IDOT
state maps, with one folded backwards.

Why would I want to adopt children? They are noisy, disruptive,
destructive and altogether uncivilized. The old European upper classes
had the right idea - hire a nanny to take care of them at an early age,
and then ship them off to boarding school until they reach adulthood.

It is a sign of the intellectual and moral decay in the United States
that landlords are allowed to discriminate against cats, but not
children.

B*lg**m, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Portugal, and
Serbia/Montenegro.

I am presently using the Google Groups web site and my posts seem to be
all screwed up. It even apears that I may be top posting! Perish the
thought. Also, no more spell check. I wonder if it is possible to get a
spell check that will work when you are on a web site like Google
Groups.

Only a "childish" liar like you would call himself GOD.

It is all part of my self parody, something you have never understood.
But keep on with the liar bit. That is something you would know all
about since it is your chief claim to fame on this group.

It's obvious who needs to "grow up a bit and lose his childish defense

mechanisms." When was the last time you didn't get the last defensive
word in; I can't recall a time. You are the King of Defense!

I resolved from day one that I was never going to let idiots get the
last word with me, even if I have to stoop to their abysmal low level.
Too bad you had to learn this the hard way.

PS, being a "fellow Minnesotan" has nothing to do with my distain for

people like you who lie.

Distain should be disdain.

Here is Perry Butler at his best. He has no loyalty to fellow
Minnesotans and he reverts to his customary name calling at the drop of
a hat. But Minnesota is full of slobs like him. They aspire to the
middle class but never quite get there. Upper class genteel snobs like
me are beyond him.

I ought to be living on the Upper East Side of Manhattan where I would
only consort with my peers, not low lifes like Perry Butler. There,
instead of wasting my time posting to this freaking newsgroup, I could
be attending concerts, operas and ballets and pursuing the intellectual
and artistic life.

I had to look twice to make sure that I hadn't written the above
myself. Children are the price that men pay to have a sex partner at
their beck and call, and when you fall out of love, which happens soon
enough, then the children are all that remain to remind you that maybe
it was worthwhile after all.

I have so many cats that there is not a landlord in the land who would
have me. It is really not possible to have very many dogs, but cats are
not much trouble and before you know it you can easily have a dozen or
so.

I used to know how to post via Google, but I had forgotten how after using
my Outlook Express newsreader for a couple of years. It seems to post
properly via Google website that you have to do a lot of copying and pasting
in your reply. I will only use Google as a back up when my OE newsreader is
all screwed up.

I sometimes wonder if others have as much trouble with their computers as I
do. I note that when I take my computer into the shop for a repair, that I
cannot get it back for less than $100. Hells Bells! I am spending more on
these freaking computers than I ever spent on my bikes.

And he posted politely, and somewhat on topic.

Even used 'just' his name for a sig.

You had to jump on him.

We all knew he wasn't leaving. As long as he is being civil, can't we
return the favor?

Indiana Mike, ducking

He's never civil for very long.

Well said Mike,I think you hit upon the problem with his group. But let
me ask you, why should people be civil when it is so much easier to be
mental midgets?
