Default Seat bags, not nylon, not yuppie?

My town bike has a Brooks-type saddle w/ bag loops to which I'd like

make small cotton canvas or similar seat bags that don't cost a
fortune? Green, brown or tan?

Those "yupped out" Carradice bags have looked the same since long before
yuppies were ever invented.

Good point. They are venerable examples of the canvas and leather
stitcher's trade. I like them, can't afford them.

There are some small Carradice bags, of
course, and then the local-to-me bags:

http://www.minnehahabags.com/

Those look great, but they are larger than I'm looking for. Something
closer to the size of the Brooks Challenge Bag is what I hope to find:

http://www.velo-orange.com/brchbag.html

(Though at a lower price and made of something more practical than
leather. But not nylon.)

And there are also Frost River bags, made by a former Duluth Pack guy in
Northern Minnesota.

Can't find them. Looks like www.frostriver.com doesn't work so good. Out
of business?

I did find the "Frost River Echo Trail Seat Bag" at

http://www.modernbike.com/itemgroup.asp?IGPK=2126176220

but it's also large. It does apparently come with directions to my
friend's cabin near Lake Jeanette though. How they got her address is a
mystery.

You can try Acorn bags at http://www.acornbags.com/smbag.html

The bags are made by a husband/wife team from canvas and leather. The
small saddle bag I have holds extra tubes, patch kit, big ol' cell
phone and wallet with space to spare. They have roll bags if you
prefer better organization. The price is also very reasonable and the
quality is about on par with the fancier Nigel Smythe bags that I also
have.

The only thing is that the operation is small and they stop taking
orders periodically to catch up. However, I see that the order book
is scheduled to be reopened Oct 1.

Not bad, not bad. But here I have "...60 brewing companies operating 90
brewing facilities" in Oregon (http://www.biteoforegon.com/beer.html).

I have six major breweries within 10 minutes of my house.
