Default Election Math, Donkey Party Method

Strange that you didn't mention where you got this "associates degree in mechanical engineering" which wouldn't even begin to qualify you as an engine mechanic even for C47's. The "skills level tests" for a mechanic didn't exist. You had to have a long history of engine repair because the military was dumping them a mile a minute. So who in the hell do you think you're kidding you stupid ass? Jet aircraft were taking over the entire industry and there was no demand at all for reciprocating engine mechanics.

Yeah, even for a guy pushing 90, or whatever it is Slow Johnny claims to be, I thought that "reciprocating engine" stuff he spouts is utter bull****. It is true that when I was in the Air Force Academy -- not because I was so gung-ho but because I could fly already and it was a way to avoid compulsory conscription into the Army and boot camp with a bunch of yobs like Slow Johnny -- there was still one operational P51 but it belonged to the museum and was kept flying -- by jet mechanics! -- because the commandant of the school was nostalgic for past glories. It may also be of interest that a pair of young turbine fitters who offered to rebuild a Porsche engine for me comprehensively screwed the pooch, so that forever it leaked oil and was down on power too, which, back when even a high-spec Porsche was a jumped-up VW Beetle putting out c90-115bhp, was an important matter; they were certified jet techs, but they didn't know **** about reciprocating engines. One of my racing mechanics who the next year had the engine open said, "What were those ****wits doing, reading the torque wrench upside down?" You have it absolutely right, Tom, when you intimate that from a real Air Force crew chief you'd want to get a feeling of very narrow specialisation. I hesitate to call anyone a fraud, but there is something consistently off about everything Slow Johnny claims. ---AJ

When we did a radar boresight the crew chief had to get the aircraft aligned on the line without any deviation and MOST of the crew chiefs had to be coached into getting it straight. How the hell much trouble is is to look down the alignment points on a B52 that show the dead longitudinal center and align them with the F-ing POLE that we use to align the reflector? Although it was a very long time ago, my impressions of the crew chief was that he had a checklist of what to do and couldn't think beyond that. That is why all of the tech group had a launch crew out there that spoke directly via the radio to the crew. What did the crew chief do? He had the aircraft refueled by someone else. One the end of a mission he received a problem list from the flight crew and called the necessary shops. After we were done he might or might not call MMS (Munitions maintenance squadron) for loading or unloading munitions. On Chrome Dome most of the crew chiefs would disappear when we returned from a mission as if they could hide from a accidently tripped nuclear weapon. I was never there but I did hear rumors that MMS at other faces accidently dumped and entire bomb-bay load of HE bombs on the tarmac. The group we had all seemed to be extremely competent though I think that they had the idea that a nuclear bomb was a radiation hazard all of the time.
