yeah i agree with unibob cause if it was like skateboarding the public wouldnt be thinking 'Hey look that kids on a unicycle and he is doing extreme tricks on it'.Instead they will be thinking '......just another unicyclist' which is what most people think about skateboarding -- padst3r Harry Potter uses a Nimbus and he is the best magician of all time. And unfortunately there's still arse holes who like to make fun of unicyclists. Most attention I get is usually because people think it's kool, or are interested in what I do though. But it can be annoying. I guess it'll never be too normal partly because it takes a while to learn to ride a unicycle. -- SkierAlex You've highlighted my sig'.' When I used to skate people would make fun of me and look down on me just because I skated. When you skate most people lable you as a trouble maker. When you uni people think it's really cool. Even the people that tell you to get off their property. People treat you with a lot more respect on a uni. Oh... and please reconsider the DVD Shaun. I would galdly pay $10-$15 for it. -- Michaelgoround ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Michaelgoround's Profile: http://www.unicyclist.com/profile/17218 View this thread: http://www.unicyclist.com/thread/71671 Posted Via Usenet.com Premium Usenet Newsgroup Services ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.usenet.com |

Being new and eager to learn, I would buy it. Though I probably wouldn't buy it, (as I don't think there would be much in there that I didn't know) I do think a tutorial DVD would be a good idea. That's the type of footage that is worth paying for, and I feel that selling tutorials is justifiable and right. This is because normal videos are just fun, and people will get a kick out of watching them, but are unlikely to really benefit from them. But tutorials, on the other hand, aren't half as fun to make, but are twice as helpful to the riders watching them. I can tell you that although I would keep making videos if I weren't paid, I would not make many tutorials if I would not get something out of it because they ARE just to much work, without half as much fun. -- peleschramm http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=peleproductions unicycle for atheism. www.bedfordunicycles.ca ------------------------------------------------------------------------ peleschramm's Profile: http://www.unicyclist.com/profile/14077 View this thread: http://www.unicyclist.com/thread/71671 Posted Via Usenet.com Premium Usenet Newsgroup Services ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.usenet.com |

Well, if it bothers you so much just be very anti-social and tell everybody to stuff it. Why the hell would you want unicycling to be normal? Why do you find it sad? Normal is this case seems to be referring to our sport not selling out yet and marketing it as 'cool', 'trendy' or 'popular'. We don't need marketing schemes to grow and be successful. I think it's sad you want something to be 'normal'. I'm not the kind of lad who talks to random people and strikes up conversations, but I have no problems with people giving me a thumbs up or showing interest in what I do. I kind of like it. Sure it's annoying when you go some place and get swarmed, but isn't that interest and buzz that will let this sport grow? It's obvious to me from the reactions I get weekly we don't need to market uni to all the little kiddies so they will get their parents to buy them one and let it sit in the corner, there is enough genuine interest in what we do with the public. -- wickedbob R.I.P MITCH HEDBERG 'Add wickedbob to your ignore list' (http://tinyurl.com/3dfrko). I know of about five people who have gone and bought and learned how to ride unicycles after seeing and talking to me. And loads more people take an interest. Surely there is no need for any marketing. I quite like being able to do something different anyway. -- caudy watch my trials video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HzPieOwikQ Sheffield Unicycle Hockey ------------------------------------------------------------------------ caudy's Profile: http://www.unicyclist.com/profile/16580 View this thread: http://www.unicyclist.com/thread/71671 Posted Via Usenet.com Premium Usenet Newsgroup Services ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.usenet.com |
