It's a $500 commodity path bike--quality should be fine like all bike
shop bikes at that price point, ride it and see if you like it before
somebody tells you that you like it.

Tell you what--it's cashing in on the Electra Townie crank forward
craze--they've become hugely popular path bike, especially at my local
LBS. People just love them for tootlin around the neighborhood, going
to the store, visiting our local hot dog bus, and all the normal bike
stuff.

So try the Trek, but try some of the Electras as well, the ones with
the Nexus internally geared hubs are totally fuss free and start at
around $400.
