Default Even cycling bodies say that cyclists are inconsiderate ****s

Issues highlighted by Sustrans include cyclists regularly being caught by
speed sensing equipment travelling at speeds in excess of 28mph on the
Bristol-Bath cycle path, close to a school

"Greenways (whilst great and convenient) are not for speeds in excess of
15-20mph especially in built up busy areas."

"Pedestrians on these paths regularly describe feeling threatened - exactly
the same as people that cycle describe feeling around car traffic. We need
to reverse this trend of resentment as we need to be seen by all as the
solution."

Sustrans did not want to put cyclists off using the paths, but did want
riders to use them responsibly.

The surprise is that you find that surprising!

I would like to think that motoring organisations would do likewise,
and condemn speeding motorists.

As an abstract concept, that is probably true. Somewhat to my surprise,
I even recall that Edmunds chap (when in a senior capacity at the RAC)
arguing that people should not drive to work (though who elected or
mandated him to say such a thing on behalf of RAC members was not made
clear).

But I'm sure I've *never* heard of the AA monitoring speed at a
particular location and issuing a condemnation of those allegedly speeding.

Because we already have an organisation that does that, who have a vast
arsenal of expensive equipment available.
We don't need another one who, after all, have morphed from a motorist's
organisation to just a money-making corporation.

But they don't, because speeding isn't a major problem with motorists.

Ooh, I know - are they called The Police?

I was only walking along that path last week when I was nearly hit by two or
three cyclists travelling at totally inappropriate speeds.

I wonder - does anyone know the person to whom I should complain?
