A brand new wriggle for the book of excuses
QUOTE:
"A drink driver who ploughed his car into a shopping centre may have suffered a twitch behind the wheel caused by his Tourette's, a court heard. Shaun Gordon, 22, crashed his Ford Fiesta into a column after he had been out with friends until 3am. A court heard two passengers who were in the car suffered minor injuries after it smashed into the entrance to the CrownGate shopping centre in Worcester at 4.37am on April 29. Police breathalysed Gordon and found he had 47 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit is 35mcg. He told police was 'not sure what happened' to make him lose control of his car and plough into the shopping centre. But a court heard he could have lost control of the Ford after suffering a tick caused by the Tourette's syndrome he suffers from. Gordon, of Worcester, admitted one charge of drink driving when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Friday. He was banned from driving for 14 months, fined £95 and ordered to pay £135 costs as well as a victim surcharge of £30." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...OURETTE-S.html |

If the fine needs to be inflated, then inflate it. OTOH, a £95 fine for (a presumed DWDCAA and) excess alcohol seems very lenient. The driving ban will at least give him something to swear about. |
