116 drivers spotted breaking the rules in Brook Street in just one hour
QUOTE:
"It provides a vital cut through for buses and taxis (AND CYCLISTS - SM) as they make their way around city centre. But Brook Street is often seen as more of a hindrance than a help to the commuters using Hull's public transport network. For pedestrians, it offers access to Prospect Centre, as well as a number of stores that line its busy carriageway but to drivers it should offer ***nothing at all** (EMPHASIS MINE). The road, which connects Prospect Street and Ferensway, is off limits to cars and is only open to buses, taxis and drivers using it to load (AND CYCLISTS- SM) but that did not stop 116 people ignoring the traffic signals in just one hour earlier this week. The signs were put up to ease congestion for public transport but drivers "ignoring" them have led to traffic chaos at rush hour." ENDS So much for law abiding drivers! 116 offences in just ONE HOUR. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/news...rivers-3443427 |
