Scofflaw motorist leaves woman suicidal
"Riaz has pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention,
failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident and no insurance. He has been warned he faces jail. The court was told Riaz, of Whiteways Road, Grimesthorpe, fled on foot, injuring himself and leaving the stricken casualties lying in the street. About 20 minutes later he rang the police claiming his car had been stolen.
He said three men had attacked him, beaten him unconscious and taken the vehicle." Still, at least he wasn't a cyclist, so he can be dismissed as OT. http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/local/...-car-1-5264694 |

So, in a kind of roundabout way it is on topic. |

And it's about time these people were forced to pass some kind of test before they're allowed to drive these things. Upon passing this test, the person could be given some sort of ID card with their name and photograph on it, and their details recorded on one of those new-fangled database things, to let others know that they're qualified to operate a motor vehicle car-weapon. |

It's been tried, but they still manage to **** things up. In cases like this, it might help to have an electronic tag for drivers similar to those implanted in other animals which may stray. |
