En-lightening question?
Looking to buy a lighting system for my beast, I have an 9year old blt
system that the battery is dead. What is out there for good systems with about 2 hours of life? Thanks, Andrew |

Thanks, Andrew Hi Andrew, I posted this a while back. Instead of tossing your old light try this -- - - - 12 years ago I bought a 15w 'Niterider' (NR) brand halogen to illuminate my night rides. A dozen years of charging cycles and the nicad battery has finally failed. I was aghast at the replacement cost from NR (70 - 80$ US) and started to shop for different makers. REI had an ENTIRE 'Cygolite' setup (a 10w spot with a 6w flood) for LESS that the replacement battery for the NR. So I went with the Cygolite and have been very happy with its performace but I was missing my much brighter 15W NR. So I thought 'what-the-heck-why-dont-I-just-splice-this-into-the-Cygolite' and WAH LAH TRICLOPS was born ! 31 WATTS Beaming out from my trusty steed. Makes for nice decent down those dark fireroads on moonless nights Run times 3 hours on the 6 watt, 2 hours 6W + 10W, 35-45 minutes running all three (6+10+15) SO Dont throw out your old Niterider!! Works great spliced into the Cygolite nicad Photos: http://www.ozmantrad.com/triclops01.jpg Triclops On http://www.ozmantrad.com/mi_bika.jpg My XTR F300 C'dale http://www.ozmantrad.com/hubbage_de_blanco.jpg Mi cool hubs |
