Blaze light

What do you think ? And the $200 price ? http://www.blaze.cc/# Looks pretty gimicky to me. A be seen light instead of a see the road light. For that kind of money I'd get a light that will actually light up the road surface far enough in front of the bicycle to be ableto ride the bicycle at speed at night. Cheers |

All these laser-projector-things for bicycles are dumb. {also see footnote} If they could get an iPhone connecting port on it they would probably sell a few thousand to iPhone owners though. {also see footnote} -------- Footnote: They simply aren't as bright as they need to be, to be effective at what they're supposed to be doing. |

try it ! idea is perception requires giving the op for instantly analyzing your cycle path as apart from the total background then enough substance to require ACTION from the receiver analyzing.
a white light, as previously reported does not ID your path as a moving bicycle. HY7xxBz21! often does ID the oncoming freight. but there's more http://goo.gl/mYDOK2 |

What do you think ? And the $200 price ? http://www.blaze.cc/# This sort of projection has been done before, it's nothing new. I suppose that it couldn't hurt. The key thing in a front light is to have a wide enough beam and to have a flashing mode for the daytime. They have the flash mode but they don't state the type of optics. Nice that the flash mode has three levels of brightness. One really nice thing about this light is that they seem to have spent some serious time and money on a good bracket that's not junky plastic and that has both pitch and yaw adjustment. Not sure if the rating is in lumens or in Chinese lumens. 300 lumens would be acceptable but 300 Chinese lumens would not. |

No need for a connector, they just need to put BLE inside--or as Apple calls Bluetooth Low Energy, "iBeacon." The laser feature aside, it's not terribly over-priced compared to other bicycle-specific lights with internal Li-Ion batteries. It's expensive compared to a MagicShine light, or compared to an LED flashlight of equivalent intensity and functionality. Pros: -Looks like a very good handlebar mount bracket, which is a weakness of many bicycle lights. -Flash mode has three different brightness levels. Most lights have only one brightness level for flash mode and two or three levels for steady mode. Flash mode is so critically important in a front light that even at a single brightness it's fine, but it's very nice to be able to reduce the brightness of flash mode if the situation allows. Still not sure about the optics. But since the inclusion of the flash mode means that they are not trying to get StVZO approval that means that they don't have to wreck the optics by having a sharp cut-off, so they probably do have a symmetrical beam. |

Con. $200.00n foe a bicycle light that doesn't even light the road enough t see? Incredible that anyone would praise such a design. But heck it flashes. (Heavy sarcasm) Cheers |

What do you think ? What good is a smallish green splash out at a whopping 5 to 6 meters' distance? You cannot trust it's effect, so you'd be riding slow enough to move behind the suspicious vehicle anyhow. Getting aBlaze might prevent some customers from spending their money on serious lamps. Loughable, minimally shaped "beam" from the weak white flashlight. Won't fix the real issues: unsafe driving in the UK; unsafe lane and positioning choices of cyclists. And the $200 price ?
