Biker’s sudden death at Loch Skerrow
Evolution in action! So much for the alleged "health benefits" of
mountain biking! Mike http://icdumfries.icnetwork.co.uk/tm...name_page.html Biker’s sudden death at Loch Skerrow Feb 12 2009 by Stuart Gillespie, Galloway News A MOUNTAIN BIKER died after complaining of chest pains while on a trip in the Stewartry recently. Fifty-four year old Iain Bell, of Dumfries, died near Loch Skerrow on Sunday, February 1, while out cycling with a couple of friends. The group stopped at Loch Skerrow, which is near the old ‘Paddy’ line between Mossdale and Gatehouse station, after the chain came off Mr Bell’s bike at around 1.45pm, at which point he took unwell. Due to the remoteness of the location, the Galloway Mountain Rescue Team crew from Castle Douglas, and the helicopter from HMS Gannet at Prestwick, were needed to help the ambulance crews and police get to Mr Bell, but, unfortunately, he had died by the time they arrived. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. The Castle Douglas branch of the Galloway Mountain Rescue Team were out again on Saturday when they, along with the police, were called out to find two missing walkers. The pair had got lost between Gatehouse station and Clatteringshaws and believed they were on the Fell of Fleet. They were found by the police on a road near Clatteringshaws in around an hour. -- I am working on creating wildlife habitat that is off-limits to humans ("pure habitat"). Want to help? You're one sick puppy, Michael.
A guy has a heart attack, and you rub your palms together with glee that a bicycle operator is dead. You need a new shtick, asshole. |

Nobody was killed. A person died of a heart attack. He happened to be a mountain biker. You are NOT trying to protect anyone. You have a serious fixation. This fixation prevents you from being a productive member of society. |

Yes, because you are living in Fantasyland. You don't have a good grip on reality. -- I am working on creating wildlife habitat that is off-limits to humans ("pure habitat"). Want to help? Perhaps, but who can disprove that that mountain biking kept his heart attack from coming much sooner. Isn't exercise good for the heart? |

Isn't exercise good for the heart? That begs the question. Mountain biking is obviously NOT healthful, especially for the wildlife & other trail users. -- I am working on creating wildlife habitat that is off-limits to humans ("pure habitat"). Want to help? He came from a family of men that all died of heart attacks in their late 30s or early 40s but managed to live to age 52 before his heart attack. Daily aerobic exercise managed to get him an extra 10 years at least over his relatives. Opus |
