Cops allowed to give hair cut, says CID boss
"Ken [NY]" schreef in bericht ... ATTN: NYPD. THIS MIGHT BE A GOOD METHOD OF HANDLING CRITICAL MASS BICYCLISTS THE NEXT TIME THEY TIE UP MANHATTAN. CAREFUL, "JYM" -KEN Saturday April 9, 2005 Cops allowed to give hair cut, says CID boss BY NELSON BENJAMIN Star Publications (Malaysia) Star Online KUALA LUMPUR: Policemen are allowed to give those detained at police station lock-ups a crew cut for purposes of discipline and hygiene, Federal CID director Comm Datuk Fauzi Shaari said. He said even if a person was detained only for a day, the officer-in-charge of the police station could still use discretion to give the detainee a haircut. "Under our lock-up rules, police can give detainees a crew cut. Most of the time the lock-ups are very stuffy due to overcrowding and the haircut will help,'' Comm Fauzi said when contacted. He stressed that the "crew cut ruling" applied to all detainees, including those detained by other government agencies and kept under police custody. Comm Fauzi was commenting on two recent incidents where detainees who were given crew cuts had protested. On March 31, 15 students who were hauled to the Gombak district police headquarters after being allegedly involved in a fight with another group of youths were given crew cuts. This angered the parents. On March 22, a 45-year-old ex-civil servant, who was arrested by enforcement officers of the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry for having pirated VCDs, was given a crew cut at the Kajang district police headquarters. Cordially, Ken (NY) how to get cheap haircut: get yourself arrested in KL. Next hair cut will be in three weeks. Next Q is how to get to KL by that time? Bert -- Posted by news://news.nb.nu |

Easiest way is to get to the Indian Ocean by tramp steamer, then ride in the next big tidal wave. I know you favor all sorts of undemocratic behavior, and no doubt you can find examples from all over the world to cross-post and write your little nyuk nyuks about whom you think should be subjected to them, but it's incredibly socially inept of you. You've been on Usenet long enough to learn a rudiment of courtesy. =v= At any rate, a haircut would have little effect on me. You know those insecurely-macho cops like Bernard Kerik and Bruce Smolka who shave their heads in an attempt to look more virile? Well, I have that hairstyle naturally. _Jym_ |

=v= The NYPD's mistreatment of bicyclists is germane to the
charter of rec.bicycles.soc. Cops mistreating nonbicyclists in Kuala Lumpur is not. And that's the bald truth. _Jym_ |
