Default Gotta share this one!

There was five of us just riding on down the road, me and four of my COP mates. This female in a (Sorry) Volvo starts to pass us, no problem as we are on a quiet back road and no traffic.
Out of a driveway comes Mr 4Wd at great haste, sees the Volvo passing five riders and starts flashing his lights and pulling to the centre of the road. Volvo driver starts pulling left and we sart panick stopping.
Volvo driver realises we have nowhere to go and stops in the middle of the road.4Wd drives right up to her and starts abusing the lady driver.
(Who had slowed before overtaking) Five of us walk up and the COPS ask him for his licence. He takes a swing at one of them, claiming not to realise they were COPS. (They were riding in their POLICE shirts!)
4Wd misses with his swing so I pops me head up and catches one right on me snooter. Cops pounce on him and "subdue" him (JEEZ that musta hurt!!)
Cuff him and place him under arrest.
He has now lost his licence for a year and has to pay me for dental work $800 That I have needed for many years, seems when he hit me snorer, I fell and hurt me teeth somehow, according to the POLICE report. The lady driver has to get an official apology and "remuneration for trauma caused by your actions" of $200.
Good day really. I felt I just had to share it.
Moral to this is: Ride with Cops.

they carry cuffs with 'em on training rides in NZ? Sheesh! I find it hard
enough just carrying the toolkit, spare tube, phone, jellybeans etc in my
jersey pockets let alone half a kilo of handcuffs! 'spose you never know
when they might come in handy.... maybe I should get some. Do they come in
Cromoly or C-fibre?

Flaps.

The guys were riding home after work in their full work uniforms.
I was just tagging along with them till they turned off when it all went down.

Nothery about our cycling law-enforcement personnel:

A few years ago I used to ride in a Beach Rd. bunch right on dawn/earl
in the morning that were getting repeatedly sprayed with dye from
squirty bottle out of the window of an anonymous grey panelvan (with n
light on the rear numberplate), ruining the ride and several hundre
dollars worth of gear. One police rider persuaded a TOG car to wait i
readiness near site of squirting, which, sure enough, happened agai
after a few no-shows, much to the bunch's relief. The van, driver'
and passenger's history were combed in minute detail by the attendan
TOG, and were revealed to have several undischarged traffic offence
against them, the van is pronounced unroadworthy, the driver throws
punch at one of the (now laughing) bunch, and is bundled into the bac
of the car and driven off. Charged, it was later revealed, wit
assault, conduct endangering life, malicious damage, all his ol
traffic offences and driving whilst disqualified, driving a
unregistered vehicle, and a few more which I forget.

The bummer was, I wasn't there on the morning they got thei
comeuppance! I only got a few splashes of squirt on one sleeve on
previous morning, but I still feel good that at least one cocknocker i
thinking twice about harrassing cyclists again.

M "had the police on my side on more than one occasion"
