Default Drilled Rims suck?!

I now ride on a LM rim, but never had a problem with the KK drilled rim,
even after countless big drops, many to flat. It just didn't have the
width I wanted, and didn't feel as stable as the LM. But then again,
the LM is incomparable, and once you go LM, nothing else will do!

Prices can range wildy, depending where you look. A quick google search
brought up 'this' (http://tinyurl.com/5es4xf) site, which seems to be
the lowest of the three I saw. They also offer a price match, so if you
find it cheaper, they will match it. I've ordered from them before and
been pretty satisfied.

Thats correct. The weight he gave was for the 26" because the 24"
Nimbus rim is just an unbranded KH freeride rim so the weights would be
equal. UDC has an error on the weight, surprise!

I didn't think Maestro was being out of line.

UDC UK doesn't have the Nimbus 24" rim listed but they do have the 26".
I guarantee that what happened was UDC US just copied and pasted the
specs of the Nimbus 26" rim from the UDC UK site to their own site and
rather than writing up a whole new page for the 24" version they just
copied their Nimbus 26" specs and changed wherever "26" was mentioned
to "24" and removed the ERD since whoever wrote it didn't know what it
was but neglected to change the weight.

Doesn't have to be solid to be strong!

Nobody said that non solid objects can't be strong. Design is more
important. However, if you filled in that frame with solid whatever
metal it's made of, it would be stronger. It'd weigh a lot more and the
strength gains probably wouldn't be worth the extra weight but it would
be stronger nonetheless.

Humans aren't meant to be tanks that have bones that can withstand
monstrous impacts, thus one of the reasons are bones are not solid.
Humans evolved from tree monkeys to run on the ground. So our bones
can't be too heavy or else we sacrifice efficiency which could mean a
meal is missed because we are too tired. Since nowadays most people are
moving towards a more sedentary lifestyle, our bones are probably slowly
but surely becoming less dense.

I take back what I said earleir. The drilled rim does contain some
alloy. it is 96% aluminum. 4% other metals. the specific alloy must be
heat treated after welding.
