TIA, John 2007/8 Centaur, Veloce, Mirage and Xenon left/front'QS' shifter needs a flatbar(FB) or 'QS'frontderailleur(same dimensions). 2007/8 Record and Chorus, altho labeled 'QS' are the older ratcheting friction types and can use any FD. All left shifters for 2009 revert back to the multi positional ratcheting friction type(hoooray) and so can use any FD once again. Some more questions on this whole QS, FD line ... 1. What do you think the odds are that my Suntour triple FD would work with a QS shifter? Next to none 2. Also, in looking through the listings for various campy FD's, it doesn't look like any of the triples are actually labeled "QS". *I've found "Race Triple" , "Comp Triple" and "Champ Triple (9spd)", but all the ones that explicitly say "QS" appear to be either for doubles of compact doubles. *Do you know which ones work with a QS left shifter and a triple set up? Race and Comp are QS compatible. Champ should be paired with 9s (pre- QS) Xenons. Ones marked "FB" for Flat-bar shifters are also Escape Mechanism QS- compatible. 3. *Finally, what's with the mounting bands? *How does one get a Campy FD to fit on a "traditional" 28.6mm seat tube? Use a shim, or get a braze-on model and an adaptor clamp. Nashbar sells adaptor clamps for like $4. |
