Default Davis Phinney 1988 L-B-L Photos

Does anybody have pics of that Davis Phinney crash in the 1988 L-B-L (or was
it Roubaix) when he went flying through the rear window of a team car?

Kurgan,

If you've got them please email them to me or post a link so I can get them
off the web.

Thanks,

Does this pertain to legal action?

Which race was it then? I am sure it was not Paris Roubaix. If you are
talking about the face plant on to the team support car (not the 7-11
team though) then I want to say Fleche Wallone but I suppose it could
have been Liege Bastogne Liege. He had another similar crash in yet
another race but I think that was in the US. The scars have healed
nicely though it did take a while. The last time I saw him was in the
Pope Valley (NorCal) race in the early 90s and even then you could
barely notice the scars.

It was LBL. The race organization was criticized extensively for the
incident, and shortly there after LBL was under the Societe Tour De
France (now ASO) umbrella. He struck the (Ironically) ISOGLASS team
car, the mechanic got out looked at Phinney, hopped back in and they
took off. I've seen some Miror du cyclism pictures of the incident and
they are truly horrifying.

It was LBL 1989. He was on 7-Eleven it wasn't his support car.

I found a small B&W photo in Bicycle Racing In The Modern Era from
Velosnooze:

Yes, it was the '88 L-B-L.

OK, thanks. I meant that he was on 7-11 and that he did not hit the
7-11 support car, which *was* his team. I guess my sentance could have
been more clear.
