Default Aldi Bikemate Computer and trackpumps and going for £4.99

Just bought an Aldi Computer Bikemate computer for £4.99 and well
pleased with it. Already have a track pump which I bought from Argos
for £12.99 because Aldi are doing an identical version for £4.99!!!

With the computer, I can cycle at 18mph constant for an hour easily -
is that good?
Max speed I can get up to on the flat is 25mph - is that good?

I hate spam, but I thought I'd share the info about the Aldi stuff
because it looks great and cheap and will be of interest to some
people here

No experience of the computer but the trackpump broke within a month.

Depends on you and the bike.
My old departed Pioneer would only get up to 29 mph on the flat.
The Specialised 34 and I run out of speed before the Giant.

I bought a Bikemate computer a while back from Aldi. It stopped working
after a few weeks and the manufacturer sent me a new one. That stopped
working after about a year, and they sent me another one. That stopped
working so when Lidl were knocking them out at 3.99 I bought three, one for
each bike and a spare.

Fairly good but did you set the wheel circumference absolutely correct?

Maybe, I managed 30 mph on my old MTB today, I did have a little assistence
from the wind god behind me though.

Yes. So correct that I use the valve of the tyre being vertical while
looking downwards as a mark and while sitting on the bike slowly
moving forward so that the valve becomes vertical again and measuring
the distance between the marks. I get a circumference of 2087mm with
700x25c tyres.

I find that incredible, and that's on the flat? Above 20Mph I find
wind resistance starting to kick in.

Sheldon says 2105 for 700x25.

Hmmmm. You could buy a decent budget computer for £15 and save on your
contribution to landfill.

Thanks, I'll rush out and buy one (or two). Oh actually I need three now!

Watchout household waste disposal, I have this HUGE truckload of defunct
cheap-**** electronics to get rid of.
