Default Cycle routefinder

Does anyone know a cyclist's routefinder program online or to buy? Or
alternately, can anyone recommend a cycling route from King's Buildings
to South Queensferry?

How happy are you on busy roads? I used to cycle between Cramond and KB and
joined Queensferry Road at Blackhall, into town, up The Mound, then
Causewayside & Mayfield Rd. I must admit I'd not be too keen to follow QR
past Cramond Brig, but you can then drop onto the side roads and the path
on the east side of the dual carriageway.

This was a few years ago now, but even then the traffic was busy enough
that it was fun to cruise past the jams on Queensferry Road.

NCN 1 will take you from Haymarket to Queensferry on off-road and quiet
roads. You do run the risk of dog walkers though.

KB to Haymarket can be done reasonably quietly by coming up through
Bruntsfield and then down the hill.

Alternatively, if you don't mind busy(ish) roads, head for the coast and
just ride all the way along from Seafield road, through Leith and Granton.

And trams, in due course.
