Lithium Ion vs NiMh battery

Which brings up something I've always wondered about. You go in the store and there is a very nice battery display rack with all sorts of batteries. One can only speculate how long they have been on the rack, or in storage before being displayed on the rack. Does the store scrap any battery that has been on the rack for X months? Years? Or just keep them until someone buys them? And which brings up another question - how do you know that your source is any better? |

Buy name brand with a stated expiration date and preferably from a domestic vendor. Example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/5-FRESH-Gen...6/291730572457 To find those, key in the battery type and add the separate word "expiration". -- Regards, Joerg http://www.analogconsultants.com/ |

Not to be too critical but that is the brand and card I bought in which two years after purchase three of them were dead when one of the other three in use went dead. Did you contact Sony about it? They have to defend a reputation and should usually fall over backwards to make it right for you. It can happen that their QA slips but it isn't supposed to. -- Regards, Joerg http://www.analogconsultants.com/ |

To me stuff like that is not just a matter of principle, an otherwise reputable manufacturer has to know that this is happening. If nobody alerts them they may never learn about such problems. After all, it just takes 30sec for an email. The only one here who might make a couple of bucks in 30sec is probably Jay :-) -- Regards, Joerg http://www.analogconsultants.com/ |

A good company, if they want them back for an investigation, will provide you with a shipper label and a 1-800 number. A quick call and the shipper picks it up. Or drop it off in town. -- Regards, Joerg http://www.analogconsultants.com/ |
