Bicycle DRLs - Actually reading the paper, actually looking at the numbers: Dork of the Day

Should Jim Webb be nominated as the Democratic candidate, I'll certainly consider your advice. The problem with voting logically and on the basis of promises, is that none of the candidates have any intention or ability to actually deliver on their stated promises. Worse, the party platforms tend to be either identical, or undecipherable. The best I've been able to do is inspect their voting patterns in congress, which unfortunately sometimes changes abruptly after the nomination. Third party candidates often look good, but don't have a chance of getting elected. My having the responsibility of deciding the election outcome by voting for the loser is a heavy responsibility, which should not be treated lightly. But in the end, my vote is usually based on the lesser of the available evils, on the assumption that all the candidates all evil. Last resort. Do any of the candidates ride a bicycle? If not, maybe ride a Harley? http://time.com/3911745/joni-ernst-roast-ride/ -- Jeff Liebermann 150 Felker St #D http://www.LearnByDestroying.com Santa Cruz CA 95060 http://802.11junk.com Skype: JeffLiebermann AE6KS 831-336-2558 |

Andre Jute Most colorful campaign slogan ever, "I grew up castrating hogs. I'll go to Washington and cut pork". I heard that and mailed off a contribution posthaste. Despite my often-bad-luck support, she won. Sadly, as Mr Lieberman notes, not so much actual cutting. For casual amusement, I suggest you read the Republican Party Platform for 2015 (62 pages): https://www.gop.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/2012GOPPlatform.pdf Note that the terms "protect our rights to..." or just "protecting..." is mentioned quite often. Protect from whom? Obviously, it is to protect the voter from the government, of which the Republicans can share an equal blame as the Democrats for creating situations that require protection. On casual inspection, it would seem to be organized much like a Mafia protection racket, where those that cause the problem, and those that offer to solve it, are the same. Incidentally, the last time we actually had a balanced federal budget was under Eisenhower. The immediate result was near economic collapse that was only solved by a major increase in government deficit spending. The lesson was not lost on the government, which now considers government debt and spending to be the solution to all problems. I assume that the Democratic Party Platform will be similar once they're done copying the ideas and innovations of the Republicans and 3rd parties. Gone antenna raising. More later, if I survive. -- Jeff Liebermann 150 Felker St #D http://www.LearnByDestroying.com Santa Cruz CA 95060 http://802.11junk.com Skype: JeffLiebermann AE6KS 831-336-2558 |
