Default LBS near Footscray Melbourne

Well we are off to the big smoke! Can someone point me in the direction of a
couple of really good LBS near Footscray? We wont be driving as we are
country bumpkins so it will be bus/train (which in itself is a challenge for
us to catch as we dont have them up here lol)
We are thinking we might get organised for our next epic by actually seeing
the goods before purchase. A lot of LBS in Cairns have catalogue only and
you have to pay before you see.
Thanks
Kathy.

I don't know the Footscray bike shops at all, comng from the other side of
the city. But if it's touring gear you're looking for, in Melbourne you
really can't go past Abbotsford Cycles (not in Abbotsford, but right near
Richmond Railway Station). Peter Moore and his staff are really helpful and
stock all sorts of touring items.

You could also try St Kilda Cycles, Fitzroy Cycles and Brunswick Street
Cycles. All of them are in the iner suburbs and fairly easily accessible
either by bike or public transport.

John Beasley Cycles is in Footscray and was my LBS of choice when I lived in
that area. Abbotsford cycles is fantastic but on the other side of the CBD.
