now but what they might have been. I agree that murderers ought to be
executed but I don't feel any joy in that fact.

I'm really split on whether executions should be televised nationally.
The negative is the effect on the the condemned's family and privacy
rights, but I agree with you that if society is going to kill people
then they need to be forced to look at exactly what they are doing.
I think it's way to easy to just write it off when you don't have to
actually watch the person die.
I haven't hunted for years but still support hunting, and personally
think that anyone who eats meat should have to either hunt and kill an
animal, or be present and watch a butchering. That way they would know
exactly what the connection is between the animal and the hamburger or
chicken they are eating is, and maybe appreciate it.

When they ask teenagers where hamburg comes from, and they answer the
supermarket, and have no idea past that, that really bothers me. If
people are going to cause a life to be taken, or benfit from a life
that's been taken, then they need to be aware of it. If you have any
respect for the lives of animals and people then you need to know and
appreciate what is happening. It's actually something that's incredibly
important to most aboriginal peoples, and those who live close to
nature. It's a matter of respect for what they are taking.
I'm not quite sure how it's sick to want people to understand and
appreciate what they are doing.
