overgrown or buried now, but some could still work perfectly as cycle
ways if local councils realised what they were.

Since they invariably run parallel with carriageways and only a few feet
away, it's surprising that anyone thinks they were "lost".

Some have been removed, such as those alongside the East Lancashire Road
(A580) when it was converted from single- to dual-carriageway. Others
have always been there and are plainly visible and usable. An example is
the A570 (which intersects with the A580), just north of St Helens:

/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sLtQjZjlc8pc3Slrp1F6oeg!2e0!7i1 3312!8i6656?hl=en

So you agree motorists should pay to replace the cycle routes they have stolen.

No, cyclists should pay. Cyclists sponge of motorists as they pay no road tax and no fuel duty.

Motorists pay no road tax

Yes they do. It's the thing that used to give you a circular whatsit in your windscreen. Call it by another name if you wish, but it's still road tax.

Call it what you like it's not road tax.

It's a tax, it pays for the roads, it's a road tax.

Technically it's '60% of the motorway maintenance budget tax', the rest of the motorway maintenance and all new motorways are paid for by high rate tax payers i.e. cyclists mainly.

Cyclists tend to be poor people who can't afford the petrol.

Please cite evidence from the peer reviewed literature to support this claim.

Nobody in their right mind would use an inferior slower vehicle with less balance and more effort if they could afford a car.

So you have no evidence to support your claim.

Loads of them in the council estates a few miles from here.

So you live in a council estate.
Don't worry you will be able to buy your tax payer funded house at below market price.

Do you know what "a few miles from here" means? It's a simple enough sentence.

In your case it means on the edge of the council estate.

Get your head out of your arse you demented ****wit psycholist.

Typical childish motorist response.

What response do you expect to your silly pedantry?

A non-childish one.

Pedantry doesn't deserve a proper response.

How childish.

and fools duty is optional.

Only optional if you buy red diesel. Do you use red diesel on the road?

I don't put any fuel on the road, maybe you should clean up after yourself.

I have enough money to afford a motor vehicle.

So to most dolescum, maybe you should try getting a job.

I have one.

Thank you for proving my point.

Which is?

Dolescum like you have cars.

And people on the dole don't have cars.

But you have just admitted you have one.

And I'm not on the dole.

That's right, you are a 'Job Seeker', how silly of me to forget.

You can't run a car on 53 quid a week.

You seem to manage it.

I'm not on the dole. Do keep up at the back.

You stick to your 18th century transport if you wish.

No thanks, I would rather cycle.

That IS 18th century transport. I prefer an engine, and enough wheels so it doesn't naturally want to fall over.

Horse power?

That is the measurement used, yes.

for you 18th century transport.

Yip, common sense. Sorry if that's above your level of understanding.

No, it means they are a few miles from my house. It's plain English. What language would you prefer I type in? Should we try German?

Pedantry is what's childish. You must have OCD, see a doctor.

Cars are measured in horsepower.

Standard rate tax payers take more out of the tax trough than they contribute.
Mainly 'education' for their swarm of ill mannered brats and their diabetes.

High rate tax payers make a nett contribution to the tax fund.

Are you really that stupid? How tall is your bicycle in grams?

You are the one who said cars are measured in horsepower.

The C12 standard defines the number of C12 atoms in a gram.
The size of a C12 atom is defined.
Therefore it is possible to specify how tall a bicycle is in grams.
The numerical answer is left as a exercise for the student.

Their *power* is. There is more than one measurement to a thing.

Bull****. You're assuming a width of one atom. That would hurt to ride it.
