Is a SRAM PC48 chain (listed as 8-speed) compatible with a 7-speed Shimano
Hyperglide Cassette?

The PC48 chain works well with all 5, 6, 7 or 8-speed freewheels and
cassettes, and works well with all 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10-speed
chainrings.

Well... I've got a SRAM PC-48 chain on my single-speed Raliegh. It
seems to work fine on its Shimano BMX freewheel and Vuelta chainring.
Should I call in an exorcist?
