Long Island-Jones Beach Bike Path reopening?
Hey all,
I went down to Cedar Creek Park this weekend and I saw that the Jones Beach Bike Path is closed for the season, it's expected to reopen sometime in "Spring 2006". Does anyone know of any good bike paths that are down by the water on either the North or South Shore? The Jones Beach path is nice but I was looking for something a little longer, (ideally about 20-40 miles) (JB is 9 miles roundtrip and is usually full of rollerbladers and kiddies). I have a mountain bike so I'd consider anything offroad or road. I live on the North Shore and I prefer the south shore for riding because it's flatter. The North Shore is so hilly that one minute you're killling yourself and the next minute you're coasting down a hill at 25 mph.... Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks, Lisa Ashley Rafter |
