The locals spread nails in the road, and later on two cyclists are seriously
injured after crashing. It is time to stop this carnage on the roads,
nothing is gained from it and much is lost.

On the contrary - there is now a second closed road cycle ride in the
UK.
The events are spreading - 3500 riders will sign up for this.

Cycling on the road, and racing, is, relative to other sports, very
safe.

Trouble is when ****wits try to make people crash the participants
minds and therefore concentration may wander a little.

Beats me what mentality people have that spread tacks on a road and the
mentality of the people who condone it. You purport to extoll safer
roads and yet gloat everytime you hear of a cyclist crashing. Like
Doug, you're a hypocrite with no credibility whatsoever.

Simple really.
