Opinions on Cannondale F600
Hi All,
I've been a road cyclist for over 20 years and just bought my first MTB. I chose the Cannondale F600. I looked at the Trek 6500 but went with the C-dale becaue it is US made, seemed to have better components over all and a bitchin' paint job I wanted to spend $1000 max. SUre some of the componets suck, like the pedals and saddle but I figure I would upgrade in time. Road cycling is still my mainstay but I bought a MTB for a change of pace, maybe ride to work or the gym, and just putter around town and trails every now and then. So, what do y'all think of that bike ? Strong points and weaknesses ? I guess I should have posted BEFORE i bought, but that's why I'm not a rocket scientist, I guess;-) Anyway, let me know what your thoughts are and some ideas for upgrades. THANKS !!! -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid" -Anthony Hopkins |

Well, you already bought it. I think you made a good choice over the Trek. I like the Cannondale F-400 for an entry level ride. It has a dual assault frame. The Petite model also doubles as a Trials frame with Sub 16in chain stays, and steep head angle. Best of luck TJ |

Asking for post-purchase approval in alt.mountain-bike is a good reason
to "use rec.bicycles.off-road instead". My thought is that crackandfail makes overpriced bicycles for what you get. JD |

I love it! I changed the seatpost, saddle, and bars. The only weakness I have found is some flex in the bottom bracket. Enjoy Ray |
