Hey

Has anyone fitted a System 1 MRP chain device to a hardtail with standard
(lower) chainstays. The chainline is a bit screwed what with the back
plate hitting the chainstay. Any ideas other than getting a system 2, as
the MRP website says you can get a system 1 to work with lower chainstays
fine.

Check to see if your bottom bracket is asymmetrical... i.e., the spindle may
be longer one one end to allow for the inner plate. Reverse it if this is
so.

My MRP-equipped bike has ass chainline, too. The chainline is straight on
gears 7 and 8 out of 9. I had to grind down the inner plate a LOT in order
to stop it from hitting the stays.
