NoCom smashes 400K race course record
Here is the rest of the story about the NoCom racer that smashed the 400 K course record.
Johnny NoCom Fastest Stock Bike in the Known Universe® "I looked at the trip computer and realized that not only was I going to SMASH the race record but also finish in under 12hrs if I worked just a bit harder, the final laps were some of the fastest all day and the last lap was the third fastest. I finished first in 11hrs and 57mins.. A GREAT DAY.. Who ever said “its not about the bike” was wrong.. Glenn" |

That's what, about 80% as fast as the winning speed of last year's TdF? Not to downplay that 80% because that average TdF speed was over almost 3400km and it's MUCH easier to maintain a higher average speed over a longer distance. Well okay maybe it's not but then, much of the TdF took place in the mountains where the downhills really boosted speeds. Oh, they had to *ascend* as well as descend? Well, okay then. But some of the fastest climbers as well as some of the fastest overall road riders in the world were among the TdF riders. Hey, maybe whoever said "It's not about the bike" really was onto something or maybe the "fastest bike in the known universe", isn't. Not that those two statements are necessarily mutually exclusive. g Regards, Bob Hunt |
