I will soon be traveling where there are no wheels allowed. But I'll
still have some Shimano with me:

Grilled Northern Pike, coming up. SRAM should really start
competing...

Sweet! After taking a few years off from fishing, we decided to get
back into it again. We've been surfcasting, north shore and south
shore LI. Waiting for fall to come around so we can make the trip to
Montauk (the place to be in the fall). We don't own any Shimano
equipment tho. We have equipment that can handle the big fighters like
blues and linesides (stripers), what we catch around here mostly.
Still hoping to have my chance at a 40-50 lb cow one of these days...

Good luck with that Pike, you can get some delicious steaks out of a
good sized one.

Accidentally caught a pickerel with my Zebco when I was a kid. I
thought I'd hooked a log. Scared the hell out of me when it came out
of the water.

Shimano did a good job of utilizing their spinner technology in the
creation of brifters. Similar concept.

What kind of lures are you using? I had a Mepps minnow that I was
entranced by, though the fish didn't seem all that interested.

Also: I was looking through a bike crap catalog the other day at some
different took boxes, and I realized I used to do the same thing with
tackleboxes in Bass Pro. Similar, but different.

Hmm... ways in which fishing is like mtbing....

I caught this little guy at UTM coordinates 16 U 371750 E 5321200 N
with a 3/4 oz. Little Cleo:

Tasted great pan fried in olive oil with garlic, cumin, chili powder
and oregano, and served over a bed of Backpacker's Pantry freeze-dried
paella.

And to think that I was stuck inside installing cabinets and a sink
this weekend. *******!

There's some plans afoot for a Sheepshead Bay boat rental this month
for some stinkin' bluefish.

Oh yeah, nice hat.
