Default Warm ride ... and a milestone .. ;)

Very warm this pm when I started off, 18 miles round trip, 4 litres of
water, four mars bars and a banana! Exceeding hot to start with but a
steady, easy pace brought a very refreshing wind and made it far easier
than it was to drive to Market rasen races yesterday!

Very little traffic on the roads, over Thorne moors way, back towards
Misson and Bawtry then towards home through the woods .. lovely ride,
mostly off-road, but maybe 6 miles onroad.

Milestone was reaching 20,000 miles on this speedo/mileometer ... as
I've had it about 5+ years that's a rough average of 4000 miles per
year, which is nice, but even nicer is that probably only 1/4 of that,
perhaps less has been on 'proper' roads, all the rest have been
off-road though a lot of that is farm-track and not decent
singletrack!!

I love my bike ..

Last time I cycled around Thorne Moors is was like riding around a
vast void where you don't seem to be getting anywhere. :-)

4000 miles per year, mainly off-road? Respect. Rather more than me.
Well done.

Yes, that's a good total for off road where you only average around
10mph or so.
Still, that's faster than the typical car commuting average speed. ;-)

Cheers. Mostly small rides up to maybe 20 miles, but at least one
every day with a few shorter ones too, running errands etc, around
roughly 100 miles a week, give or take a shed-load ...

This year I've actually, for the first time, done more miles by bike
than I have in the Landrover .. though that is a plaything now ..
