Default Green beer

I may have missed someone posting this because I seem to recall a mention
before but network news just did a nice story on New Belgium and their
conservation/recycling efforts.

The biggest bicycle-related thing I noticed were the chairs in their
brewpub, I think, that were created from used bicycle rims. I thought they
looked pretty cool.

I also read they give townie bikes to all their full time employees.
Pretty cool company and the beer's good too! I think Trippel is my
favorite followed by Abbey and 1554. The rest are good too.

I had a presentation by one of the reps a few weeks ago at work. Great
people! Their plant is very green. They have there own waste treatment
plant which generates energy to run the brewery. Very cool.

I am working with them to sponsor our epic weekend this year in Buffalo
Creek. They bring a green powered (wind and solar) stage and sound
system along with brew. The cups are biodegradable and they recycle
100% of what they bring in. No waste!

They give back a lot to Colorado. Definitely, a company that others
should model after.

They always have kegs at our bike events around here too. Nothing like
racing my guts out (sometimes literally) and then sitting around
drinking beer for a while!

Sounds like a perfect way to spend the weekend actually.

Dear Greg,

I see that green beer is insufficiently aged, half-fermented, and
unhealthful:

http://www.aafla.org/SportsLibrary/O.../outLXI02r.pdf

Page down past the Postum ad that reveals the evils of the dread
coffee bean and learn how Schlitz beer will let you avoid the
biliousness and headache that accompany green beer.

Cheers,

Carl Fogel

FWIW: my wife just started a new job doing software for beer
