Extra patrols and signs after child mown down in shopping area
A mum whose three-year-old daughter had her leg broken by a boy cycling
through a shopping centre is celebrating victory in her fight against nuisance bike riders. Emma Williams demanded police and council chiefs take action after daughter Ann-Marie was knocked down by the schoolboy rider at the Longfield Centre in Prestwich. The accident happened just yards from No Cycling signs. More than 1,000 people have signed her petition calling for action against anyone cycling dangerously and demanding more signs. Now Bury council has promised to put up an extra sign and is considering extending the bike ban Police also say they have stepped up patrols - and have vowed to prosecute cyclists who flout the ban. http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereven...hopping-centre |
