after posting ambulance came by tooting...

and not for http://www.deeranddeerhunting.com/wp...Hemingway..jpg

rescuing dogs is good practice getting the boys out of the barn.

tourism is business...more than 15 from climbing Mt Hood or Rainier ? So whatta gonawdo ? leaveem up there to die ? dropem a box of hot torts ?

I hadn't viewed the copter before...very sad I'm upset. Took me 30+ years to get to Smiley. Wind devil. dervish.

we had one yesterday which is infrequent. Two loons in a Tupperware kayak on a nice winter day maybe 65 out there cool water I should check that...66 degrees..went over one swam in one not sonar sez there's a body on the sand bottom. The megasquad, the accident is off the causeway beach area, went home for dinner leaving him to swim it out.

Wink drily reported 'on the bottom' apparently no pfd...so.

I practice turns in there, duck suop

So Elmer's dog runs off to the cliff falling 20 feet down n barking up there over the rooves of Elmer's naybors so Elmer goes up to rescue the dog and....

as for yawl rescuing cats the less said the better....

I doan like dogs either nor dog owners but the strong should care for the weak if that strengthens the middle. No ? That may not be current thought in Portland

We should take care of dogs, to a point: http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1...ous-fumes-math

IMO, the dog population -- both stray and pet -- has exploded. I used to see people walking a dog. Now they're walking two or three. WTF? http://www.salon.com/2014/11/20/the_...d_pet_partner/

Now we have bogus service dogs in public places. I was in a post-op waiting room to talk to my wife's doctor a week ago, and two alleged service dogs were barking at each other. Gawdamighty, in a f***** hospital. I would have freaked out but for the fact that my miniature horse was keeping me calm. I also had six cats under my coat just for back-up calming.

California has gone communist, the big lie is that
government money falls form heaven.

Margaret Thatcher noted that socialism works until you run
out of other people's money...

True.

I believe that New Zealand once debated the need to back charge the
rescued for "services rendered" in the event of a sinking yacht
although I don't know the results of the debate there does appear to
be some logic involved.

The state of Nevada apparently spent about a million dollars in the
unsuccessful search for Steve Fossett.

well Jay, as the dogs go so go the cyclists.

Tell us, have you been or ever been associated with or a part owner of a dog or cat...?

Are you experiencing Portland culture ?

maybe you're in the wrong place ? Move to Seattle where computer dog lovers, Boing bearing heads buy dog breeds 'as an expressions of individuality' then walk dogs at

http://goo.gl/QkMWki on one of America's great parade grounds.

Especially when our schizophrenic society worships "SAFETY!" and extreme
risk taking all at the same time.

At least they won't have to call an ambulance if this guy trips:

Wasn't his bones found by a private search group some years later?

I think so. But again, a lot of good that did.

One year I was cross country skiing in Yosemite. A guy on our trip had
his dog with him and he was stopped by a ranger. Dogs are not allowed at
all, but he had the paperwork for his dog. It was an emotional support
animal. He still was cited for the dog being off-leash.

The guy seemed fine but I don't know what he would have been like
without the dog.

http://www.disabilityrightsca.org/pubs/548301.pdf

I think every pet is sometimes an emotional support animal, but clearly
there are those with psychiatric issues for whom the animal helps
mitigate these issues.
