Default Moving Shifters Slightly

My Fuji folder utility bike has Shimano Tourney 3 x 5, with STI on the
5 and the front is friction, I think. I had bar-ends put on and there
is not really enough room for my hands if I use a normal grip. Looking
to move each shifter 1/2 to 1 inch in. Will I need to adjust a cable?
If so, where and how? Thanks.
