Nashbar front rack? Crap or chocolate mousse?
So I'm fantasizing about how much junk I'm gonna bolt to the new Dew
when it comes, and I've always wanted a front rack. So Japanese and stylish. Nashbar's got one that uses the brake studs and the streering tube's bolt hole. Anybody used one? Curious if they mess with the brakes or the mounting of the fender: http://tinyurl.com/2efrgg Won't be used much, except for to carry small items wrapped in burlap and lashed in twine as Peterson's got a spear to my neck right now. Also, as I'll be paying shipping, might as well get some more stuff from 'em: Are their house brand panniers any good? Would mainly be used for town errands, not touring, so I don't care if they're super water tight or anything. Finally: are those MKS Sylvan Touring pedals as sweet as they look? I've got some of the vintage quills, and they're smoooth, but uncomfortable. I can't live with myself if I leave the stock plastic ones on the Dew. shiver It *is* getting a Greenfield kickstand with rubber foot, as I always wanted one of those. |

They also "self-retract" on the first left turn. -- Tom Sherman - Holstein-Friesland Bovinia A Real Cyclist [TM] keeps at least one bicycle in the bedroom. -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

I just sold a couple bikes on Craigslist with them, after applying a hacksaw to one of them to dial in the lean. Oh, yeah! I just haven't had one with a cute wittle rubber foot. I'd really like one of those with the two legs, but they're out of my price range as I'm trying to keep the Dew's doodads under a hundred and change. |

Ah, you must be thinking about "The Stabilizer", the model that bolts to the rear triangle then, used by cops, 'cept round here--where they bought the cops scooters to replace the bikes. He he...."Stop, thief!" [whirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr] |
