Could I please apologise to the cyclist I cut up with my car at a
roundabout near the Watford Industrial Estate the other evening.
However if he had had any lights on his bike, I would have seen him a
lot sooner and could have given way to him!

If you're going to use that geek camera, at least film the registration number and the guy's face.

And they aren't after cyclists, that sort of driver did that to me in my VW Golf. Luckily a VW Golf has exceptional stopping power and a loud horn to relieve the annoyance.

You have got to remember that women make babies - not a great bit of design work. Messy, noisy and cannot do anything useful.

Interesting point, I had never thought of the horn being used to relieve
annoyance. I had always assumed it was generally used in anger to cause
annoyance to others. As a general rule, I find the use of it rude and
anti-social. I rarely ever use it and when I do go to use it, I never
seem to be able to locate the thing that makes it work. Other drivers
seem to instinctively know where it is. But then, if you find that you
regularly need to warn other of your annoyance or crap driving, I
suppose that you will remember where it is.

I also have a job to remember where the horn button is since I very rarely
need or want to use it, one day I actually needed it, but by the time I had
found it, a little old lady had reversed into me. Whether she would have
stopped if I had hit the horn earlier is debatable though as she was not
really with it. Happily it was just my car that was damaged rather than a
possible pram with baby or small child.

I have had similar scares where I could not find the horn. I will check
this immediately so that I know where it is in future, just in case.

Or a possible cyclist, as I think that you will agree.

Yeah, when I wrote that I realised the pun.

Of course, since this is a cycling newsgroup, plus any of the other myriad
of vulnerable road users.
