Default Resal Value of These Old Wheels?

Hi there.

I have three old 1980's 36 spoke 700C 3x lacing wheels in very good
condition that I am considering selling on either Craigslist or
Kijiji. I would like to ask a *FAIR* price for them. Can you advise
what a fair price for these would be?

Two of these wheels have True America Tubular rims marked MATRIX and
were made in Waterloo, Wisconsin, U.S.A. They both have tires marked
National Tire Co (or Corp) marked on the sidewalls. Both tires are in
very good condition with evenly worn tread but lots of tread left. I
can't see what the tire width is but it is very close to the width of
the rim.

One rim is laced to a Campagnolo Record front hub and the other is
laced to a Dura Ace 7-speed cassette hub. I have the 7-Speed Dura Ace
cassette on this hub and it can be used with a new chain as I have
done that before removing the wheels from the bicycle. The other
wheels has a Mavic MA-2 clincher rim laced to a 7-Speed Shimano N-600
cassette hub.

Thank you again for your advice.

Cheers from Peter

save the wheels for another 20 years and you might be able to get a
good price from some antique bike restoration project fan; as it is
right now, you should give them free to someone who needs them as you
seemingly don't.

Hi, Peter, may I suggest that you donate these wheels to a charity
such as:-

I'd probably try about $50 for all three. Depending on the local market,
they may sell for less than $10 or more than $100. It's two fancy hubs
laced to no-name rims and with Panaracer (nee National) tires.

In general, non-aero tubular wheels are not highly sought after. Set up
for cassette hubs? Even less so. There are people who want them, but not
as many as people who have them.
