Mr. Dolan presents an accusation without proof. No one has proved that
Ed Gin authored the Johnny NoCom posts, and there is significant
evidence that indicates other parties.

You have chosen your side and I have chosen my side. I trust Jim McNamara on
this issue, not you.

Mr. Edward Dolan and others consistently bombarding the group with
pro-Republican messages certainly had nothing to do with it. [End

I am the Great Responder! Everything I did here on ARBR in the political
sphere was in response to various outrages by your liberal cohorts. Even Mr.
Ball, the founder of BROL, stated that most recumbent cyclists were
liberals, at least the ones who were posting to ARBR. He said this like it
was in the natural order of things. That is no longer the case, thanks to Ed
Dolan.

I wonder if BROL is just chock full of nothing but liberals? And if so, does
Mr. Ball let them have their say unchallenged?

Ed Dolan - Minnesota

Nope. The decline clearly starts around October 2002, by November
2003 it was down to under 2/3 of its peak value, and since November
2003 it has declined steadily. If anything the monkey pox increased
the number of postings, since the poxers are quite prolific.

The huge number of posts that you point to were mostly of a very trivial
nature. I do not count them. I think around 2000 posts per month would be
normal for this group. Any more than that and you have got just very trivial
posts. As Jon Meinecke noted some time ago sheer numbers do not tell the
whole story. We want quality on this group, not just quantity. At the
present moment, we do not have either. Or do you count Ed Gin's invitations
to the blogs?

All we need to do is find someone who arrived late 2002 and really
ramped up their input late 2003. Can anyone find a likely candidate
in the archives?

The number of posts stayed at around 2000 for quite some time. They only
dropped precipitously after the Ed Gin episode. This group has not recovered
from that fiasco.

Ed Dolan - Minnesota

Mr. Dolan,

You are intelligent enough to know that repeating a lie does not make
it true.

It's quite obvious who killed ARBR: You did, and you're quite proud of
it.

So be proud of the work you've done. And now please leave so perhaps
the group can heal itself. At this point, it may take years, or the
healing may never happen because people have found other forums. But
with you here, the group will never recover.

Here's your hat, what's your hurry?

Happy Holidays,

Ken

Geez, I even give him some Google facts to chew on and it does no good at
all. Ken clearly does not like what I have to say, not now and not ever,
even though I have ranged far and wide in my discussions. I can only
attribute his unreasonableness to rank jealousy. Well, it is OK to be
jealous of me. Sometimes even I get jealous of me.

And Merry Christmas to you too!

Hey Ed,

You are mentioned on the HRS blog:

Let me be mentioned whenever and wherever. I am not a criminal and I do not
associate with criminals. And I most certainly do not go to blogs unless
they are praising me to high heaven. Are they doing that? I thought not!

Mr. Sherman needs to rethink his associations and his friends. His only true
home is here on ARBR where he can encounter a few sane individuals such as
Ed Dolan.

Regards,

Ed Dolan - Minnesota

The fact is that it takes a person with supreme confidence in himself to lay
oneself open with the kind of statements I make about myself. I can do it
because I have that supreme confidence. It is the hallmark of an aristocrat.

I wonder who is shooting fish in a barrel when I say something that I know
will get a predictable response from a certain someone?

Nope, the numbers have been declining for some time. You drove away a
large number of people, and Gin drove away a few more. But there is
no apparent correlation between the monkeypox and the decline of this
group.

No, I am talking about the huge number of posts to ARBR before I ever did
any posting. I will admit when I started to weigh in that many of the
trivial posters decided to leave. They were not trivial because I disagreed
with them; they were trivial because of how they were using the newsgroup -
just greeting one another. That is not what newsgroups are for. That is what
email is for.

All we need to do is find someone who arrived late 2002 and really
ramped up their input late 2003. Can anyone find a likely candidate

See the number of postings for Jan. and Feb. and then see them for March.
That was a direct result of what was taking place in Jan. and Feb. What was
taking place then was Ed Gin posting his crap on ALL the threads under false
and forged names too numerous to keep track of. If I drove off any members,
I did it honestly open and above board. Gin did it by acting like the
criminal that he is.

Guy, you are nearly hopeless - and totally annoying! You need to ask
yourself how many members you have driven off by your one liner posts and by
being so constantly dull and boring all the time. You only get up to speed
on the despicable subject of bike helmets.

Regards,

Ed Dolan - Minnesota

Yes, so were we. And the much smaller number afterwards.

I think you'll find that (a) most of the time I lurk rather than
posting at all and (b) I'm not the one starting threads blaming other
people for the destruction of the group.
